EchoStar rises on results from joint SBC service

July 22 2004 2 08 00 PM ET By Derek Caney NEW YORK July 22 Reuters Shares of EchoStar Communications Corp. rose more than 5 percent on Thursday after SBC Communications Inc. posted better than expected numbers from the two companies joint phone and satellite package. EchoStar also stands to benefit from the expected refinancing of some of its debt which would cut its interest expense.
