Does anyone have any idea what Dish plans to do with Echostar 6 @ 72.7ºW?

I am curious because with a 1000.4 picking up the Eastern Arc I receive absolutely nothing off 72.7ºW. All the programming I get is from 77ºW and 61.5ºW.

Patience. Lot's of shuffling around coming in EA as satellites move and WA & EA can both support about the same amount of national channels.

Almost everything is on 61.5 and 72.7 -- nearly all of my HD channels filter in on 61.5 with the exception of SciFi, ESPN, and HDNet (maybe a couple others?) that come in on 72.7.

The only thing I've really seen on 77 of the channels I surf is the Nasa channel.

In my case the HD locals are on 77ºW and I wasn't getting anything off 72.7ºW. I did get my new smart card today so maybe it gives me access to the programming on 72.7ºW.

Do you have the new smart cards? You need an MPEG-4 receiver (VIP series) and the new purple smart cards to see anything on 72.7

Yes, I have a ViP622 and I received my new smart card just before lunch. The new smart card is in and now the programming is coming from all three - 61.5ºW, 72.7ºW, & 77ºW.

And so we have our answer. Too bad we did not think of the purple card first.

Something still doesn't make sense here. Even if you don't have the purple card you should still be able to tune to those channels but no video will come up. It's not like that have copies of those channels on EA for the non-purple card people.
