Why would ebay cancle the auction ?

Several reasons:

Seller may have copied another sellers photo's and description.

Seller may have used links to an external retail site to sell more of their merchandise.

It could even be as stupid as having the word DISH appear 3 times in the listing and someone reported it as 'keyword spamming'.

eBay's listing policies are laughable. I got shut down for selling souvenier celebrity ID's because ebay said they were replicas of government ID's (meaning drivers licenses). I don't know of anyone wanting to go around impersonating Caroll O'Conner, but anywho...

I see hundreds being sold every day, but I was just one of the unlucky ones targeted by their snooper troopers.

Don't sweat it. Wait for the seller to put up another one, or if you know the seller ID, contact them directly. (Which is another rule eBay has about trading outside of their site)

Since when is the 111 easily hacked? It has the card built in and its not supposed to be hacked.

That's what I was thinking too. I just did a quick search for 111s receivers and only two came back and both are retailers.

A friend of mine was selling a receiver on ebay a few weeks ago and they cancelled his auction claiming trademark infringement.

He took and posted a photo of the front of the receiver to show the condition. Because the photo showed the Dish logo on the front, it was using their logo without their permission.

Let's just say the company selling the receiver is a sponsor on this site.

I just got finished with 3 listings on Ebay (a 811, 6000, and a 6000 8PSK module). All had pictures showing the Dish logo and the JVC logo, but mine (and many otehrs for that matter) was not shut down.

I would suspect the person or company may have copied a little too much info or pictures from someone else's listing. Because my 6000 8PSK module fetched $162.50 and everyone else's was hitting around $100, I noticed my listing being copied word for word and the formatting the same. I even noticed a couple of my pictures being copied and placed on other listings. I noticed other people had their pictures copied into other listings as well.

I checked the 'completed listings' and found the exact same ad. I'd contact the vendor directly since they are a gold sponsor of this site and they may cut you a break.

Its worth a shot.

I suspect it was just a random occurance since I scrutinized the listing that had already ended and found nothing to indicate copyright infringement or anything else ebay considers naughty. (but I don't work for ebay, so I can't tell what they think)

It could have been a competitor reporting Sadoun.

As suggested above, contact them directly.

Note: I bid on, but didn't get the AV700E they had up. wahhh!

Amazingly, they appear to do nothing at all about the hundreds of "Free Dish Network system" for $0.01 but "don't buy this, click here instead" that have spammed the indexes.

If I saw another ad that looked identical picture and wording I would think that it would be the same one for sale or that the sale would be coming from the same seller. That might be one reason why they think its not a good idea to do this.

It could have been your background too. Even though it looked like a watermark, it still had Sadoun.com on it.

eBay's listing policies leaves a LOT to be desired. They are way too hit-n-miss.

They didn't pull your other 200+ auctions. Some have the background and others don't.

You gonna relist any PocketDish's with a low starting bid? (sorry to swipe the thread) *hint-hint*;)

Dang!- My 921 is croaking
