This whole thing has me puzzled. I want hd from dish (thought about Directv but there too pricy and they lied) I cant 129 . My LOS from 61.5 to 119 is excellent. I have heard about the Eastren Arc stuff. I want the top 200 with hd and no locals.
I bought a 3900 off ebay to try dish out. (dish family)
I want a dish that can get hd so when I save some $$$ il get a dish hd dvr.
1. what satellites are the E/A on?
2. dont want to spend $150 for a E/A dish is there a "poor-man's" setup possible.
3. Is the E/A service availible in the midwest?

yeah but there is hd on 129 too right? i thought the hd was on 61.5 with voom the voom went boom and it went to 129. what is 121 for??

61.5 and 129 ar mirrors of each other. You also have to have the new smart cards to use EA. So be careful if you buy a vip receiver on ebay, check to see if it has the new 3g smart card. . If you had 2 dish 500's you could do a poor mans setup. 1 for 72 & 77 and 1 for 61.5. If you do not have the dishes a 1000.4 would be cheaper. If you upgrade to HD they might give you a 1000.4, but they are not supposed to because you are an existing customer. Only for new customers. You just have to talk to the right person, I did and got one.

Okay the free 1004 wouldnt work becuase I install everything myself.
The reason I asked about eastren arc is becuase I couldnt see 129. I can get 61.5 fine so Il have a dish 500 at 110 and 119 and a pizza dish at 61.5
what are on the 121 and 109 sats?

I'm lost, is this new service? If so, why would you be buying stuff off of ebay? I was setup on EA a few weeks ago as a new customer, I didn't have to buy any hardware and I have a ViP 612 and 211K and a 1000.4 dish.

Look here.

It will show you what channels are on what sats. 121 and 118 are mostly internationals. I don't know of a 109- typo for 119?

yeah it was.
so heres my plan
I have a 33" dish that I used for fta. I will retrofit a Circular Lnb on it and point it and 61.5
the guy that i bought the 3900 from said for $25 extra he'd send me his dish 500.
1. So with 110, 119 and 61.5 I can get all the channels, hd channels and locals with the dish family pack and later on top 200 with hd and locals?
2. If I use a sw 44 I can hook the sats up to one coax?
3. When I buy a 722 or 622 down the road will the sw44 work?

i looked on ebay and it said the sw44 needs a power inserter. what is the volatge? i could make one

I was installed today on eastern arc and my receivers dont have any smart cards. they have the slot but nothing in them.

You probably don't need the new purple cards. Your boxes are so recent, they probably have the "built in" card updated to the latest security system.

1. Yes
2. No you will need and SW64 to do 3 orbital locations or use a Legacy twin on your 119&110 and a dual on your 61.5 and sw21's to combine them.
3. Yes Legacy equipment will work with the 722/622 but you need 2 lines to the receivers.

ok so let me get this straight.
if i use a dual lnb for the 500 (has 110 and 119 in one unit) and one lnb for 61.5.. can I just use a 22kzh switch from a fta setup?
and im getting the 722 can be use with one line im only using it for 1 tv.

no i was a customer a while back bot got rid of the stuff. what is on 121 and the other

But you are not a customer now correct? If not, wouldn't Dish just come out, dump off any equipment that you need and commit to two years service like I did?

I used to be one they still have my record. I dont want a 2 year commitment

Take the 2 year commitment....you could break the commitment, pay the 10 bucks a month penality...and probably still spend less money and effort trying to buy the equipment on your own and crossing your fingers that it works.
