There are two confirmed cases of rabbies in the area of Chesapeake and Newport News so if anyone is in the area be sure to get your dogs/cats shots up to date and keep a watchful eye on your family. One case was confirmed caused by an infected raccoon and the other is unknown, in both instances the dogs were put down and the family of one is being treated as a precaution.
