Well - Here's the background - I got a call from Dish a few days ago, saying that they are noticing that there's a signal problem on my setup - which was right, as I had noticed lost connection messages lately as well - but not bothered enough to call...
Nice to hear that they were being pro-active. They scheduled a free visit for today. When the tech showed up, he also noticed that on my 119 and 110, I had weak signals. When he looked at the dish setup outside, he thought it was the tree that was blocking the signal...
He gave me two options - Trim the tree (not something I was interested in) or move the second dish to another location - not something I was keen about.
I asked about getting the EA install. He called his Mgr, who said that it will cost me to upgrade. I suggested we call Dish directly and see if they would be more receptive... Well, guess what - on the first call - I got lucky. The tech explained to them the issue and said that Customer would prefer a single EA dish setup and they said OK! They are scheduled to come back on Thursday to install that....for no extra charge. The tech did not have the 1000.4 dish, so the rescheduled visit.
So, my questions: Is there a downside to this, that I may have overlooked?
I currently have a Dual dish setup (Dish 500), pointing to 61.5, 110 and 119. I have the HD's, locals and International programming. I have three receivers, 722 (w/smartcard), 622 (no smartcard) and a 211 (w/Smartcard). All these smartcards were installed over the last month.
BTW, I am in Tampa, FL.
Thanks
