The Wall Street Journal repots that Echo Star lost their
patent fight with Tivo. Jury awards $73 million.
Yawn. Well, I guess we as *E subscribers will be picking
up the bill. Tivo gets a stock increase and after appeals
Tivo will get somethings. (Texas jury?....is that an oxymoron).
It reminds me of the Las Vegas guy who use to tie up
everybody in patent suits, cause he bought some patent
that said, "machine that sees."
Its not our father's world. Technology moves so fast....and
$73 Million isn't all that much....just gives the other side's
attorney's something to charge when they win on appeal.
Well, you all know the routine....we'll bend over and pay, but
its essentially domain technology.
