DVR playback without connection: was in color, changed to black and white

Wehave just moved to a new house so we are watching recorded shows on our Dish DVR at our new house while waiting on the Direct guys to come out. We got everything hooked up fine... cancelled the "aquiring satelittes" and went to the DVR recorded shows. We watch about 15-20 minutes or a show with no problems. Then the system shut off and when we got it booted back up, everything (menus, shows) was in black and white. We powered on and off multiple times, checked all the cables for connection issues, tried everything we can think of... and never got the color to come back.

Any suggestions?

crazy question, is this on a Component connection? not HDMI but the RGB colored cables?

Not a crazy question, esp considering I am not at all tech savvy in this department.
It is an older DVR, not HDMI, so it is only connected with a coaxial cable.

oh so is it not HD?

if thats the case I am at a loss, unless something on the board popped...

Nope. It's old. At least 7-8 years. We like to kick it old school. ;P I can't WAIT for the new HD one to arrive.

At first, I thought maybe the tv just shorted out... but everything through the XBOX is in color. Well, thanks for trying!
