I currently have RCN service, I'm moving to an area with Comcast Service. No time to catch up on all my DVR shows before we move. If I bring my RCN box to the new location, will I be able to hook it up to a tv and watch DVR shows? I don't care about cable service, I just want to watch the DVR shows before returning the box. Thanks in advance for the help.

No, that won't work. You must have a cable signal for the box to work and it must sync with the system. RCN and Comcast boxes don't talk to each other.

Question, I don't know about RCN, but I would unplug the coax cable form the back of the RCN box now and see it you can get to recorded shows menu. If you can. you are all set! Don't plug in teh box wehn you get to new home.

That'll work fine until he UNPLUGS the DVR (from electricity) & when he plugs it back in at the new place & it can't find the cable signal it's looking for to reboot, he won't get jack... ;) ;)

ONLY way around this - plug it into a UPS while it's at it's "home", then carry the whole thing to his new place. Better get a UPS that will hold you for that length of time...

Do I need a Box for All Channels w/ Fios??

minnesota adds 4 new HD channels and increases speed to 5 mg
