First off I have been a loyal dish network subscriber for 5 yrs.My current receiver is a 301.

I just bought a DVR 625 from Ebay and installed it and all that was fine but I could not get my channels so I called dish network and they said the previous owner still had a balance of 700.00 on the account and she could not activate the receiver until the balance was paid in full. So my question is this my only option or can I buy some device to trick it to think I was using my old 301 receiver or I'm I just out of my 75.00 I paid for the new receiver. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I also have an activated 625 and two 301 receivers installed in my home already if nothing else would I be able to use the unactivated 625 to support my other receivers

What the sell did is against e-bay rules. Report him through the website and see if they will help you. You bought it in good faith, but he misrepresented the items by not saying there was an amount owed attached to the item.

You could pull the Hard Drive out of it....

I don't know if it's worth $75, but at least you have something you could use elsewhere

if you use paypal, report it to them, they do pretty good about getting your money back

In addition to this, if you paid with a credit card, either when paying for the item, or when funding your PayPal account with the credit card, you can dispute the charges with your credit card company. Your credit card company will then charge back PayPal.

I sincerely hope you used your credit card to either fund your Paypal account or to pay the seller. If you did, you're safe. Call your CC company.

Adding another new TV please help me out

What are my options?
