Hi, I'm looking at getting a DVR to move into the digital recording age and am looking at getting a 625 off ebay. Is this DVR a lease only or is it OK to own as well? I haven't seen anything on the forums to indicate either way. I know until mid 2005 the 522 was lease only and then they changed it.

Thanks. Mark

You can buy any new receiver and activate it without having to lease it. If it is used then you will have to make sure that it does not have a balance and was not previously leased.

I bought a 625 off of Ebay about a month ago and had no problems activating it. Had more problems getting my account reactivated.
