DVR 508 Beta (What features will be included?)

Dave mentioned very briefly that he had a 508 at home with beta software. This software included the new option on the 721, that let you record the beginning of the show if it's already in the buffer.


My question is what other possible features are in this 508 beta. Scott? Anyone?

Is the model got new name ? I thought only DVR510 named by that new manner.

well i believe officially all PVRs are now DVRs. Of course dish can't go ahead and change the name on the front of the receiver.

they just decided to their what they were called to meet the standard now.

According to this page you can that they tried switching PVR to DVR. I think that a spec sheet is left over before they switched the names.

You can tell they went in and changed it, obviously forgot to change personal to digital. But the intention is there that they want all their tivo like units to be named DVRs.
