This gd thing is going to make me toss it out the window. Why do they insist on not letting us record something twice? Most of the time they are quite wrong. I'm trying to tape the British Open in the morning on tnt and right after that on abc. It won't let me insisting it's a duplicate timer, which it is not but so what if it was. Is there a way around this. This has happened on numerous timers where the receiver swears it's the same show when it is not.

The way I have gotten around this is to Create a manual timer for the second event. It is a real pain to have to do it but it is the only workaround that I have found so far.

Threads like this make me happy that my DVRs do NOT have NBR.

I think I'm going to be sorry when I'm eventually (MPEG4) forced into it.

SimpleSimon Trust me if you had name based recording you would wander how you ever put up with that dumb hard drive VCR so long. It may have a few bugs but its leaps and bounds better than time based recording how may shows have you missed due to shifted time slots and how may wrong shows have you recorded?

Name based is the only way to go!

I have put in record ONCE for cant miss shows just in case, like a survivor finale.

I believe that works

522 driving me crazy!

Use my Dish as an OA Antenna?
