Hi guys!
This is probably a dumb question but is there any special precautions or procedures involved in removing my EHD from my tuner?
We have three days of heavy rain forecast later this week and I want to tweak my dish that's aimed at 129w.
To do that I need to shut down, disconnect and take my Dish tuner out to the dish so I can see the screen in real time. It's on target but it could definitely be adjusted much better.
Reason being, I put a 1.2m dish up myself, I didn't go the usual route of having an installer do it for me.
I'm concerned about taking the disk off the tuner, when I press the power button on the remote there is always a message on the screen that tells me the tuner is "off". Right..
There is NO WAY the tuner is off if it's displaying a message on my screen. Come on.........
I know on a PC that you can't just yank the cord while things are running. I don't want to risk losing anything, corrupting anything or messing up the $40 authorization!
As for putting it back after I'm done, I'm assuming/hoping that it's just as simple as plugging it all in and powering up.? I hope I won't have to call and have it reauthorized?
Thanks!
