dtv from ota antenna

I have the 622 receiver and receive my OTA locals in HD this way. The local stations ran a test and we apparently don't have a digital connection. I thought HD signals were supposed to be digital. I further can't beleive the 622 receiver can't receive an OTA digital signal. What gives?

622 can't receive an OTA analog signal. If you are getting an OTA signal it is digital, although not necessarily HD.

This test, I suppose, is where the market or state shuts down all Analog for 1 minute or so, and if you still get the program, you are witching digital.

Did you go into your dish menu and tell it to scan for digitals? If the main channel is, say channel 8, then $ 8.0 is analog and 8.1 and above is digital.

thanks it turns out the next day the station comes on and says they messed up the test and everyone with Dish or Direct received a failing signal which was false. Sure would hate to be the tech who set up that test.
