I have searched but not found this answer yet:

I have a DTV 3-way Dish (110, 119, 101 sats) and want to replace my legacy Dish Quad (110, 119 sats). The Dish is definitely legacy; the DTV dish I just got. If I hook up my old Dish receivers (501 and 7100 PVRs) to the new TV 3-LNB dish, will my Dish receivers connect properly to 110 and 119?

The issue is the DTV internal LNB switch. If the Dish receivers can control it, will they just ignore the 101 sat?

Thanks for your help!!

boba is right. It's due to the special Sat C LNBF that D* uses, among other things. It just ain't worth thinking about.

P.S. "DTV" means DigitalTV, D* mean DirectTV, and E* means DishNetwork (EchoStar) :)

Arggh. Yup, more research showed D* uses transponder signal combining on 119 and 110 onto a single pipe. Thanks anyway!
