DSR505 Ebno #'s on HD channels low??

Well after having my quad LNB blow up and being F1 only for a few months I finally got a dish at 111.1 for the HD channels

Got NFL Net tuned into +9.2, the French freebie channels at +9.0 ebno and EWTN at +8.8

so the dish is aimed right....but when I tune to a HD channel like TSN the ebno is like +5.8 which seems really low. I guess when your F1 channels are at +10.7 and +10.3 anything lower you question

I even checked the HD channels on F1 (SN East, Golf, CTV) and those read low too (around +5.8 to +6.0)

I take it this is normal for the HD channels to have the ebno be that low??

i dont think so im around 8 i believe for tsn hd

Assuming the Ecb/No on my 530 is the same as Ebno on your 505 ...

Set on TSN HD 280:
Tuner 1: Ecb/No 8.1 dB
Tuner 2: Ecb/No 8.5 dB

Set on (something French) 700:
Tuner 1: Ecb/No 11.6 dB
Tuner 2: Ecb/No 8.5 dB

These numbers obtained in Seattle.

I goofed and the F1 HD channels are around +7.0

I'll try and move the dish a little bit. possible obstruction (from another dish)

problem solved....partial obstruction

F1 HD channels are at or near +8
F2 channels read between +6.8 and +8

Thats what happens when you have dishes on the roof and on the deck...the dish on the roof was partially blocking the dish on the deck

Moved the dish on the deck back to 107.3 and moved the motorized one to 111.1 and now its all working

upgraded the setup and now we have numbers I like

moved the 1.2m dish to 111.1 and now I get some better numbers

Added a 2nd LNB for 107.3 and ghetto rigged it (thats what I do best) and got really good numbers
