Don't know about NCIS because I buy east coast feeds off of W3 now, but I watch Castle every week in HD from the VI.Iceberg, I have definitely seen all of those, but have never been able to figure out why some of the shows we like to watch on the networks are never there. Shows like NCIS, Bones, Castle...I have yet to see on them. I assumed all the network channels in the different markets would usually carry the same shows. I know on my pizza I search for one of those programs and it seems to be on piles of different channels.
...There's a lot of good channels including Fox News, CNN, DIY that they have on AMC-2 ( per their site) satellite that I'm sure could be moved to W5. If they really want to keep customers and get more to come back then I hope someone is thinking ahead at SkyVision and SRL.
You have to remember that these channels are there for cable companies. They can't just move them, or change their DCII mode to be compatible with 4DTV/W5 units. If they did, every cable company that uses them would have to reconfigure to continue to offer them.
I can't imagine that they would do that to their intended customers (cable companies), just so they could get a cut of our $30 a month consumer subs. BTW, SkyVision & SRL don't have any control over what HITS puts up or where. They just went out & got them to agree to letting us sub to the services that our boxes can get.
The only real chance of getting those channels would be to get a different receiver that does all these modes. Then they would have to work out the details of authorizing them for U.S. subs. I bet that would be a major undertaking.
Cheers
...even at 30 dollars you multiply that by say 10,000 that's a good amount of money...
There's two stations that I watch when possible that are out west, one in Idaho (KBOI/KOMO) and Washington (KEPR) both feeds come and go on C-Band on 95W These are the only two I get right now until I get a HD receiver.Where is CBS on 95 W.

I'm not sure I agree either, so do the cable companies get SiFi, Sluth, Fox Movie, BBC America, and the others from W5, or are the channels on W5 there for the users like us C band guys?Except that the 30 dollars won't still be 30 dollars by the time SkyVision & SRL take their cuts. When I say "every cable company that uses them would have to reconfigure"... that's a big deal. It's not just about what Comcast would have to do, it's what all the cablecos using them would have to do... and how many of them there are. I can't speak for Comcast. But if I was a betting man, I know which direction I'd bet on.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not rooting against it being worked out. I'd like to see those channels available as much as anyone. It would save me from having to get DirecTv. But someday, I'll almost certainly have to go that route if I want the news channel of my choice.
Cheers

I was under the impression that they where available from other sources through Comcast for the cable companies, if this is true then Comcast could uplink any channel to W5 that they wanted to, and still have them available to the cable companies.
