Dropped channels, bad DP34?

Hello all. We built a new home and ran eight cables to four separate rooms (2 in each room). We are only using two rooms now. We have a DVR 510 and DVR 625. Eventually we'll set up the 625 to run a 2nd TV, but that's not the problem today. We have a Microyal DP-34 switch as a temporary. We're looking for a switch that's at least 2 in and 8 out (we are in an area where we can't get 110). Meanwhile, when we hook up the DP34, we lose channels... about 20% of them. We lose the same channels on both DVRs. We have reset both receivers, downloaded new software several times (if not 5 or 6 and ran the check switch). Still don't get our missing channels. When we bypass the DP34 by connecting both lines coming in from the satellite directly to the lines going to a room, we get all channels and everything works great but we can only connect one room at a time. We need a switch.

It seems that the DP34 is our problem. Is it because it's Microyal? I've heard that can be a problem. Help!

Microyal is not the same quality as DISH Network. DP34s are cheap enough on Ebay that there is no need to buy off brands. There is no DISH PRO compatible switch that is 2 in 8 out, what you do is use 2 DP34s.:)

Okay, it's more than a month later and I have purchased a DishPro DP34. I got back one or two channels that were missing, but still have more than a few I'm not getting. I have powered down (holding down the power key and waiting) downloaded new software, ran check switches to no avail. When I bypass the DP34, we get all channels. It's only when we hook up using the DP34 that channels go missing. Do we need an amplifier? We're at a loss here...

Did you run check switch after you added the DP34 switch? You've changed your configuration so you'll need to run check switch.

Menu, 6, 1, 1, Check switch.

Are you only connecting 119?

Problems wtih setup
