Hi, just got this receiver ( new ) , has European satellites in its list .
I am trying to get Galaxy 19 .
But , when I try to manually enter info , it seems the receiver doesn't like it or something .
Have about 90 percent Signal strength , but no quality, and won't detect anything .
Does anyone have the 'loader', communication program for this box ?
I have a North American Sat file to load to it
 
I have worked with some receivers years ago that would only take an East satellite location.....so try and enter it as 263 degrees East (360-97) and see what happens
 
First off. :welcome to Satelliteguys.
From what I read it doesn't have blind scan, or it's a failure in it's operation, so entering the TP's is a must. (TP scan only(?)) So maybe some programming 'step' is being missed.(?)
I'm really 'shooting in the dark' here as I can truthfully say I can't find anything here about it and everything elsewhere on the net, that is early in the search results, is around 6 years old.

Didn't notice an editor tho - - although the owners manual is. (is it English???)
 
Problem is that it seems the manufacturer has discontinued support -- their links don't work
and I just found out -- the 'blind' scan does not work properly . Have tried manual scan , entering the proper transponder info
but no go .
Perhaps there is some local microwave interference which messes things up ?
Also have a new Digiwave LNB 10750 LO on a 36 in. dish
I have the 'owners manual'- has an English section
 
I have seen the files that should work - on another forum - but they seem to require paid membership in order to access .
Because this receiver is [ old] , I can't get a refund or even exchange..
 
Is your dish already setup for G19? If not you're working blind to get multiple things setup at the same time.

Perhaps to get you started you could just pick one of the Eastern satellites and manually add a valid G19 transponder to scan.

Could be you're not quire aimed at G19-97W. I'd watch a valid 97W transponder, (you've found the steps to do so apparently). I'd watch the tune up screen with 12152 H 20000* selected. www.sathint.com/galaxy-19 for others (C band is 4 digits, Ku is 5 digits)
Double check the satellite setup, LNB type, frequency
have a new Digiwave LNB 10750 LO
So should be Standard and L.O. Frequency =10750
Double check the aim at www.dispointer.com, Zoom right into your dish, select 97W satellite. then click the GO button to the right of the location text area.
Watching the tune up screen, with a known active transponder selected,* move the dish in small steps across the line dishpointer paints on the page. Start with dish aimed east of, and end just west of the dishpointer line.
Wait a few seconds before performing another small step. It may take up to 10 seconds for the receiver to 'lock' the signal and display Quality.
If no Quality is attained, raise or lower the elevation no more than 1 degree and repeat. Once Quality 'registers' maximize the reading with even smaller steps L-R & up-dn.
Once you're tuned up on a this satellite, mark the pole/dish mount relationship. Maybe mark the elevation also.
This is a "GOTO" reference if/when adjusting your dish to other satellites.

Now up to 93 percent signal, still no quality @ 12152 and according to dish pointer I should have it within 1 degree
 
Do you have a TV next to the dish so you can view the signal level and signal quality readings?

The calculated angles are starting points and small adjustment will be made while watching for the Signal Quality reading to jump.

Is the LNBF rotated in the clamp to the correct skew angle? What is the angle? Clockwise or counterclockwise when standing in front of the dish looking at the back of the LNBF?

Could you post photos of the LNBF / Clamp and the elevation scale?

Could be 5°, or more, either side of where you're pointed once inaccuracies are accounted for. So don't put all the marbles in the signal meter. the meter to watch is the Quality meter.
I would be LOT easier if that receiver blind scanned. It would tell us then what satellite it's on (By the channels scanned in)
Hang in there, you'll get it.
 
Ok, thank you again for info and tips , waiting for daylight and will try to set up something so I can more easily see what a small change
somewhere can do .
On a 'blind scan' it seems to be scanning thru possible transponder freq. and polarity, but it won't return/show anything
so , manual scan it is, although seems it needs some [ quality] in order to actually do the manual scan for channels .
I have a Digiwave Sat finder , seems useless , led's , not meter , just goes nuts with no response to movement of dish
 
Just to be sure, are you using the "LNB input" port?

According to the photo in the manual on page 8, the output port with the 13/18V might be easily mistaken for the input at first glance.

Well, butter my bread on the other side..
Finally working , but weird , dish is basically at 0 degrees elevation ???
Maybe it has something to do with the LNB bracket ?
It is a used dish , but looked good and I did not bend the bracket..
And lo and behold the 'blind scan' works on this version of my Dreambox.

I believe I see what is going on with elevation, LNB points at center of dish, but it is positioned below centerline , so signal bounces off dish at
about 20 degrees x 2 close to 40 degree .
As above I should soon be able to post a pic or two so you can see what I mean .
It is a Q-Sat dish , slightly elliptical 36 wide by 39 high .
I found the 'sweet' spot by desperation , I had previously gotten two channels from a sat at 11W , weird bounce off a storage trailer
so , was trying that 'experiment' again and the direction was almost on G19, saw some quality, so went for it.
Then tuned in better from there..
 
Offset dishes typically are designed with an offset angle between 22 - 28 degrees. Example: when the face of the dish is angled straight up/down vertical, the dish is actually reflecting signals that are 22-28 degrees higher.

Most dish distributors provide the offset angle in the product specifications. If you know the brand and model of the dish, this information should be readily available to Google.

The elevation scale stamping on the mount should indicate the real elevation look angle for the dish. Beware, sometimes the scale hasn't been stamped correctly and the elevation reading might be way off.

And as you taught me a while back Brian, check the other side of the dish for another scale.
At least on the Azure Shine there was a scale on the other side I missed that you pointed out for me.
