Long story short, I have had an ongoing problem receiving certain channels (CourtTV, the local CW channel, NFL network, etc) for several months on two of the three receivers in my home. The third receiver has no problems picking up all channels at all times, while the other two are hit or miss, more miss than hit. I have tried swapping the receivers from room to room, swapping the cables at the switch itself, reboots, etc and still get the same results, the one receiver works fine while the other two still won't pick up all channels. I finally called Dish the other day and after explaining the problem several times and them making me check sw versions and all the basics the tech informed me that he believes it is the switch and that I should have someone come out and check it for me, at my expense of course. Does anybody believe that this sounds like a problem with the switch? I don't mind paying them to come out and check and/or replace it if that is likely the problem, but to me it sounds like an issue with the receivers. Honest opinions needed please. Sorry my long story wasn't made so short:D BTW, the good receiver is a 322 and the two bad are both 811's.

local CW

You stated that local CW was a problem. If it is OTA CW that shouldn't be going thru the DPP 44 so the answer is at least that station can't be caused by the switch.

Thanks for a response guys! It is not the OTA CW, it is the feed from Dish, OTA has been the only way for us to watch the CW at all for many months. The switch is located outside stuck to the side of the house, the tech was pretty insistent that someone should come out to check it. I'm going to call them back and see if I can get a better answer from them, or at least one more to my liking. My thinking was that if the switch was bad it was bad and would not work even intermittently for some of those channels, and would not feed those channels to the 322 no matter where I hooked it up. Am I making a bad assumption there? Thanks again.

Not necessarily. Sometimes a bad fitting and/or port on the switch can give you some really screwy (missing channels intermittently) results. Either way, I feel Claude has the best answer and asking Dish to RMA the switch.

sound level difference between SAT and OTA (VIP 622)

What has Dish done to their HD receivers?
