DPP44 Daisy Chain PSU ?

I don't think power is supplied via the passthrough ports, so you would almost certainly need to use both power inserters. I believe not even the signal comes out of the passthrough ports when the upstream DPP44 is unpowered.
 
Actually if you have a receiver on port one of the second switch, the switch can & will be powered by the receiver. The First switch MUST have the power inserter because it needs to power both the switch and all the lnb's connected.
 
You have obviously never seen a junction room with trunked switches. Each switch in independently powered. You do want your DPP44 to work as a switch right?
