Does it matter what sat line is hooked up on ports 1-4 on the 44 switch? Right now I have 110 on port 1 119 on 2 61.5 on 3 and 148 on 4. I am in the process of moving the 148 over to 129. Should I switch the sat lines from 1-4 or just change out the 148 to 129 on port 4?

no. id doesn't mater. but I'm perfectionist i like to have 119 it is primary sat, then 110 secondary, and usually 3rd and 4th

ya know, I have actually had issues with 110 on port 1. I have no idea why, but I switched it so 119 on port 1 and the problems cleared up.

Problems were: Could not download all guide data, channels disappearing. Lots of receiver lockups.

I think that the receivers look for 119 first and it helps to have 119 always in port 1 in the switches. It's also a good practice for the next guy that comes for a trouble call.

Correctomundo!

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS put 119 in Port #1, and 110 in Port #2.
Exception: SuperDish DURING FIRST HALF OF SETUP ONLY - read the manual.

When using a DPP44 on a SuperDish with added Wing (61.5/129/148), put the 105/121 on Port #4.

No... but there are some legacy receivers that only handle a SW64 (in this case a "virtual" SW64 consisting of the first three inputs of the DPP44) and those receivers don't recognize FSS at all, thus the recommendation to put 105/121 on port 4. That gives those receivers three usable inputs.

If I remember correctly those are the x000 (except 6000) and the 7x00 DishPlayers.

can i use the disk drive out of a dvr510?
