How difficult is it to upgrade a dish to DP Quad from Twin 500? Can I do it myself or do I need to hire a technician? Where do I go to purchase the DP Quad piece?

as long as you have DP receivers and no other dishes or switches, it's pretty simple. One screw, detach and attach cables.

And run "check switch" on all receivers when done.

Assuming it's wired properly (both feeds from the twin hitting a groundblock), why not just throw in a DP34 instead? You'll just simply run your feeds out of the groundblock into the DP34 switch and then homerun your receivers to the switch. Not to mention the added benefit of expansion if you chose to add more than the 4 rooms that are afforded by the DP Quad
