Understanding the TPN Map

There are seven tabs at the bottom of the Domestic Excel:

NATIONAL 50-State and NAT+PR channels, grouping first 4K, then HD, then SD channels in channel number sequence
LOCAL Local-Into-Local channels in DMA Market Name sequence, grouping first HD, then SD channels in channel number sequence. Puerto Rico's Market Number sorts it to the bottom of this tab, as if it were a Domestic DMA
OTA the Directv supported database of Over-The-Air channels in DMA Market Name then channel number sequence. The OTA database was not expanded from November, 2009 to May, 2018. Then, beginning 5/23/18, new records and updates resumed
On-Demand On-Demand Service channels, followed by On-Demand Engineering records in channel number sequence
Offline Ka and Ku Offline records in National, Local, Test and Puerto Rico groupings. A large number of part-time, seasonal, RSN Alternate and ‘Game-Only’ sports channels appear in this tab since they are typically Offline at the time of day the TPN Map is assembled
Engr Engineering and Test Records for National, Local, Slate and 'Push' channels - each grouping in channel number sequence. This listing also includes 'Zombie' records - dead records which still refer to satellites no longer in service
Domestic Network Decoder illustrates all active satellites and their TPN's graphically to explain your receiver's signal strength presentation

If Diamond Sports doesn't make a payment by the end of the grace period next week, a Cincinnati Reds channel will go live on 5/6 for next week's series against the White Sox. (The 5/5 game is an AppleTV+ game)

Their payment issues with the Guardians, Twins and now Rangers and Diamondbacks are still working their way through the court where a decision should be made by the end of May.

Puerto Rico doesn't get as many channels so they only need 6 P/I channels to reach their 4% quota.

Most of the missing spanish channels target expats from specific countries or carry programming PR gets via the pan-regional Latin American feeds, so they're not needed in Puerto Rico. There's also some conflicting rights issues because Puerto Rico has a lot of locally programmed OTA channels that have Spanish dub rights to certain shows, movies and sports. Like a lot of the sports Universo has airs locally on Telemundo Puerto Rico or their Punto2 subchannel.

The bulk of the Music Choice channels that they are missing are the former commercial customer exclusives.

BSN and Barvana are private business channels, if Anheuser-Busch or Barvana ever need to deliver their channels to Puerto Rico, they can be added.

Yesterday 698 NSCAHD switched to logo_id 233 which has the vertically stacked NBC Sports California logo instead of the horizontal style logo_id 361 that the SD feed is still pointing to. logo_id 233 used to be the LMN logo. (Meanwhile 696 NBCS Bay Area is still showing the highly outdated pre-2016 Comcast SportsNet Bay Area logo)

Their payment issues with the Guardians, Twins and now Rangers and Diamondbacks are still working their way through the court where a decision should be made by the end of May.
Arizona's NBA and WNBA teams struck a deal with Gray to have every game air OTA on their independent stations KTVK and KPHE, so if they lose the Diamondbacks next month, what's left of Bally Arizona will only have the Coyotes. The games will still be available nationally via League Pass, although on busy nights their feeds could get bumped like what happens with the 76ers and Raptors.

I think you mean KPHO. KPHE does exist, and it’s even a Phoenix station as well, but it’s low power and not carried on the Phoenix LIL lineup.

I think you mean KPHO.
The press release flat out says the games will be on KTVK and KPHE:
The Suns and Mercury will have all non-national exclusive games broadcast between KTVK and KPHE. The Suns will have a minimum of 70 games broadcast, with at least 40 regular-season games on KTVK and the remaining on KPHE.

KPHE-LD is the AZ Family Sports Network, which will also be simulcasted on the new construction permits Gray won during last year's auction: KAZF Flagstaff (Phoenix DMA) and KAZS Yuma, along with a subchannel of KOLD in the Tucson DMA. Since this will have in market NBA games and Gray is a major broadcaster, they have enough clout to force LIL carriage of their new channels after they build them out later this year.

Sorry for that fuss, the last time I searched KPHE was when it was still a cheap independent station that probably almost little to no area residents knew about.

this is exactly where we need to get back to. Sports was getting crowded out of OTA so RSNs became necessary. Now there's so much capacity on OTA that sports just makes sense.

Tonight’s UFC Fight Night was supposed to air on ESPN+ Business channel 9522 but now it was taken off the program guide… is the Apple MLS package, MLB EI fox feeds and any RSN overflows for NHL playoff games have anything to do with DTV not having enough CINEHD feeds available to air UFC fight night?
