started the multiple satellite blind scan with 48 satellites, 21 k band and 27 c band. when i started the scan a window came up with the k band limits on frequency and i said ok. now it is finished searching the k bands, 125w was the last one in k, and i presume it went to c band but for the last hour it is changing satellites but no tp's have been found. the last tp was 12181 on 125w. will just let it go until it completes because i don't want to lose the k band channels. charlie

if you exit out it will save what you currently have

I would personally scan each satellite one at a time so you can get your channel list set up per satellite (at least that is how I would do it)

Yeah you won't lose your channels if you stop it now. I agree with Ice I like to do mine one at a time. It is neat though to watch it run through the arc scanning all on its own. I prefer one at a time a lot better though.

I have a similar 46 bird list and the microHD doesn't like to blind scan the list. But once you have a list of transponders populated in your sat list, the microHD can do a transponder scan of all birds quite quickly and without missing anything. I've seen some talk of having at least one transponder in each Sat before blind scan all sats. I havn't tried that yet.

scan is finished. no c band satellites. i see that if you to the preprogramed tp's it does not bring up the 'scan frequency range' window. so i cannot do a multiple scan on c band because the tp's are not in there. what i did on the blind scan with the openbox is start the scan, and switch to the dish network and the wife could watch tv, i could do something else and come back later to see the channels. fortunately i can still do that with k band but all the c bands have to be scanned individually. charlie

Why do the C-Band satellites have to be scanned individually?

Did you program the switch settings for each C-Band satellite? Are each of the C-Band satellite positions saved using DiSEqC 1.2?

Select only the C-band satellites in the Satellite List and perform a Blind Scan Multi-Satellite search

ok, i took all the hearts off the k satellites and am now doing a detailed scan on the c satellites. i hope i don't lose the k channes in the meantime. however, if i lose the k band channels, i can do another detailed scan on those satellites and shouldn't lose the c channels. i am thinking that once i have the detailed scans then the next time i can do the preprogramed multiple scan because it doesn't bring up the frequency choice window. yes, i have the diseqc 1.2 positions have been programmed. charlie

My old box (Coolsat 7100) had a scan with a selection list on the same screen, where you could mark the specific satellites you wanted, independent of any other list. Globally changing which satellites are "active" because multi-scan is going to scan "all" of them doesn't seem very intuitive compared to that.

Removing the satellite selection from the activated list does not remove the channels that were previously scanned. The active list only affects the ability to add new channels.

after i removed the hearts on the k band, i was able to scan the c band with a detailed scan. then i put the hearts back on the k band satellites and i didn't lose anything. i think now i can use the preprogramed scan to scan them all at once. charlie
