Does directv do receiver swaps?

My brother wanted a HD DVR is his room.

Well I called and they said I could get one for free.

I have a tech coming out tomorrow to put up a new 5lnb dish and come to find out my brother does not want directv....ok.

Question is, my HD DVR is a couple years old, and is scratched up from being moved around.

Do you think the installer could just swap out the new HD DVR where mine is, or not?

If they do, and I doubt they will since they don't have a work order for you, it would give you a new two year commitment.

You can tell the tech to put the old receiver in your brothers room and put the new receiver where the old one is currently at. Then give it a month, if you or your bro do not want D* in his room, deactivate that receiver and send it back to D*.
