I just got Direct tv and notice all the channels are 3hrs fast. example shows that are normally on at 9pm show at 6pm. I went to several tv channel websites and they all say the show starts at 9 and then the dtv guide says its on at 6.I am in pacific time zone and the time zone it set right on my receiver. Is there any way to make it broadcast at the normal time?

Most national channels are what you'd see if you lived on the east coast. Hope you got a DVR. Locals will be accurate, but this kind of thing is why channels like Discovery play Deadliest catch at 6pm and then again at 9pm.

It's the minor networks not Directv that is broadcasting 3 hours early, they provide one channel to directv and it is set for the east coast time. so we here on the west coast get to see them 3 hours early, just a advantage to having a dvr and living on hte west coast. All the local networks are correct and some other channels are also correct just the cheep minor networks.

The times they give are eastern, so those on the west coast see it 3 hours earlier. I prefer this myself. I don't have to stay up late to watch a show, most are replayed 3 hours later anyway, and I can always record it and watch it later that same night without having to sit through commercials.

Contrary to what some posts here indicate, there is nothing wrong with your DTV if it shows a program at 6PM and the website of the station says it come on at 9PM. As others have pointed out, when a network only has one satellite station, in some cases they only show a program once a day. However, some of these networks do repeat they program on a 3 hour schedule, resulting in you being able to ALSO view the program at 9PM (this is a repeat of a program shown 3 hours earlier.

I have no complaint about DTV's schedule. However, every so often, my local paper's tv guide gets this screwed up and posts the Eastern Zone time as the starting time on the West Coast. I've missed a few shows that way, but that doesn't happen that much.

Use the D* guide.

Use the D* guide.

Actually, now that I think about it, my scheduling problems were caused by wrong times in the local paper AND Comcast having bad data on their schedule page. I've never had a problem in the DTV schedule.

So, you're right. Use the guide my son and one day you'll be a man.
