Do I need to adjust COM port settings to connect my PC and DVB Receiver?

I'm still having problems connecting my PC and DVB to allow me to update my satellite list. The Traxis DVB 2500 instructions are no help. I have COM1 and COM2 that I can use, but do I need to also adjust any of the settings such as data bits, parity, stop bits, and flow control????? Thanks.

I dont think so

I know when I updated my Satwork, you had to turn the master power off (switch on back) and then back on for it to work. I was hitting the power button
