Hey guys:
I plan to install a Slimline 3 SWM dish at my vacation cabin.
I just purchased the SL3 SWM model dish.
My question is what other items would I need to make this install go simpler.
I will need 2" diameter pole, understand this is not usually found at places like
HomeDepot or Lowes. Have heard muffler shop is good place to get one cut?
For Dish alignment, I see many cheap analog signal meters showing on Eb**
most are $10-$20. Will one of these be an aid for alignment or just a waste.
I don't really want to buy a $200 meter like the pros use, for this onetime install.
I see most of these cheap signal meters, need the receiver hooked up for the DC power. Some are available with a battery pack for slightly more $.
Is there a better way? or a better cheap meter. I don't mind paying up
to $40-50, or so.
Also the installer used a 4way splitter mounted to the house, since I was having two rcvrs installed. He used 4 way splitter #MSPLIT4R0-03.
Should I order this splitter for connection and grounding before going into the house, even tho I will only have one line going into house, at least at this time?
I will only be using one standard HD rcvr H23NC-600. But could be moving here in a year or so and upgrading to 2 rcvrs.
Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
