Distant Networks from Atlanta

Southern Oklahoma
For the past year I have obtained distant networks out of Atlanta, GA from All American Direct. I have Dish Network. My primary residence is Atlanta, GA, and my vacation home is in Southern Oklahoma. When we returned to OK just this week for the summer, I found that I no longer can receive distant networks from Atlanta. Instead, I'm receiving it from New York. All American's website says they had more request for NY than ATL (???). I was not notified by All American Direct that this change was taking place. I have paid for 6 months, and they say it is non refundable. The point for me is this... I follow the Falcons during football season and the only way to see them is to get FOX and CBS out of Atlanta, GA. Now I can't watch them. Does anyone know how I might go about continuing to receive the Atlanta networks in S. OK? Thanks for any help one might provide.

Slingbox to watch over the internet from your Satellite box in Atlanta.

Sign MyTVRights.com petition and one day you may be able to see network feeds from anywhere. The more sign this petition the better chance we'll have of getting this crap over with.

Yeah, and if you have $100, I'll sell you a bridge in Brooklyn. Online petitions are about as worthless as a used tissue.

Hey at least this Guy is trying to change things,What are you doing ?

Thanks for sticking up for me. If everyone has a negative attitude like he did, nothing would get done. Maybe this petition will get something done, or something changed. Maybe the solution is simply that you can get distant nets as long as you subscribe to your locals. Surely they can come up with a way that we can watch distant nets without the local channels being hurt (you know...$$$$$). This isn't rocket science!!

To answer your question,

The Atlanta locals are on spotbeam on both 61.5 and 129 (the HD ones), all Atlanta locals are spotbeamed and I doubt you are in that beam from where you are.

I am afraid you are out of luck, unless you live in some parts of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina.

There was a month warning of the switch over to NY feeds on March 4th. They say NY offers better picture quality but FOX looks really bad on my HDTV...... attempting to watch 24 is like watching a psychedelic 60s video with all the shadows. While Atlanta was bad this just seems worse. Also I keep having signal drops every week during 24 and it's starting to get annoying. I don't know if that is on my end or if it is on AAD's end but it seems like it's just the distants that are having the drops in signal.

I couldn't give a rats behind about receiving locals from other cities. But, nevertheless, there is a reason why you cannot receive out of market locals, it's called greed. Your locals networks want you to watch their stations and their local ads. The more people that watch the station, the more they can charge advertisers. It's all about money and no online petition is ever going to change that. You're fighting a losing battle. Do you know how many petitions there have been over D*'s exclusive rights to NFL Sunday Ticket? Last time I checked, D* just re-upped for ANOTHER 5 years of exclusive rights. When money is involved, you've got a snowballs chance in Hades of changing anything.

I'd lean on the side of nothing is going to change. There is huge money behind the station's lock on local viewers. The money is worth more than votes...
