Dishstore Question

I had a question about purchasing something from the store, but the contact page appears to be broken. So I thought I would toss my question here and see what happens, pretty basic question at that...

I wanted to get some cable accessories, these don't add up to much in small quantities, but when the store pops-up estimated shipping as a minimum of $8 for a order of stuff that is $6-7-8, that to me is of course excessive. If I had to guess, what I was looking at could be sent USPS for less than a couple dollars if I had to guess. So is there a way to get a better feel for shipping on smaller packages?

The store is only programmed for UPS shipping.

We can ship other ways just give us a call and we can tell you how much other methods will be.

Please remember DishStore.NET has a minimum order of $10 on stuff.

I didn't see the $10 minimum, perhaps the cart would have told me when I tried to check out. I'll call and see what can be worked out for the few things I need.

Do I need to place the order before I call, or should I just note the item's and quantities to meet the $10 and place the order on the phone?

There are 2 main reasons why we do not offer Priority Mail shipping for smaller items...

#1 We stay very busy throughout the day and currently have a daily pickup account with UPS where they stop by everyday at 5pm and pick up everyones orders.

The problem with the United States Post office is that I physically have to take your order home with me and wait in line at the post office. And thats if I make it there before they close, many times I get out of the office after the post office closes which means your order doesn't ship till the next day since I'll then drop it off on the way to work.

#2 You also got to look at what we are actually making here on accessories. I get alot of orders for things such as (1) Dioplexer. I think we make something like $2 on Dioplexers. By the time I package it up, run the credit card and go to the post office its not worth my time. Atleast with UPS shipping Its saving me a trip and Its not as bad.

Best thing to do is if you want some small accessory which is under is under $10 is to email store@satelliteguys.us and tell us what your looking to order. We'll figure out the cheapest way to ship it and send you a paypal invoice. Complete the transaction on paypal and we'll ship it out sometime in the next day when we have a chance to stop by the post office. Now granted we will not be sending out a receipt in the mail like we normally do, but this is the most efficient way to handel this type of order. An example would be a $5 UHF antenna, and maybe a small bag of cable clips

Generally speaking Priority mail runs about $3.85 for anything less than 1 LB, anything over 2 pounds is better off going UPS Ground.

BTW, although we do accecpt phone orders. For better service Email is best since we are on the computer all day long

I can understand your issues, what I need is a few barrel connectors, some siding clips and some of those gilbert connectors. I determined quantities to get at least a $10 order, but the default shipping of $8 seems a bit stiff for these small items. If I could easily find some of these things locally, I would just do that, but it seems easier said than done.

If arrangements can be made, great, otherwise I'll just order and hope that the actually shipping cost is what you charge me and not the default store charge at checkout, because even UPS shouldn't charge $8 for the box an order like this would ship in.. let me know.. thanks
