Well, Dish has finally done something in response to D* recent increases in HD channel offerings. Now when you call the Dish call center, the CSRs say "Thank you for calling Dish Network, the leader in HD" I guess instead of actually adding more HD channels, they'll just start proclaiming that they're the "leader in HD" and that will make it so, and bring in the customers!

I noticed that yesterday when I called in for a re-hit. They're not just "a leader in HD", they are "the leader in HD".

How do you quantify that statement? I think the DTV vs. Dish war forum is still trying to hash that one out.

Pretty much the same way DTV is gonna have 100 national HD by December 31st and if the HD isn't really available, just simulcast the SD version and give it an HD label.

My guess is and i heard on this forum that the SDHD channel or whatever you want to call it is getting lots of bandwidth and most likely looks much better than E* SD counterpart. I mean, How could it not? DishSD is some of the worse I've ever seen since the VCR.

Just called...they are now the "Leader in DVR and HDTV."

Recent E* sub. DVR was free with zero commitment. I had to pay a $49 install fee for one DVR and one standalone HD receiver, but that is a lot less than D*'s up front costs (with commitment), and they would have waived it and thrown in some programming credits if I would have taken an 18 month commitment.

D* doesn't even give you a "no commitment" option.
