Introducing MyDVR

When MyDVR launches, you will be able to set your DVR Timer from the web! Here's how:

MyDVR includes Web Timers (DVR Scheduling) and requires the following:
1. You must be a registered member of DishONLINE.com and have an active DISH Network Account number. Click JOIN NOW or go to MY ACCOUNT and enter a DISH Network Account number.
2. A ViP DVR model 612, 622 or 722 on your DISH Network account.
3. An activated DVR via your remote control using menus: Menu / System Setup / Installation / Broadband Setup / Web Activation. Then enter your receiver nickname and press ACTIVATE

Any idea when this will launch?

I don't see the "Web Activation" option mentioned in the instructions, I'm guessing that will be a part of a future software release?

Does anyone know if AT&T/Dish customers would be able to use this feature when it is enabled? I know ATT/Dish customers have different account numbers than a Dish direct customer so I'm having my doubts.....

I guess I'm spoiled. I consider what they tried last year as an ALPHA attempt, and a bad one at that. It might even be Proof-0f-Concept.

Being an AT&T sub, anytime we are required to give our Dish Network account # we are SOL because we don't have one....

I did hear those who took part in the test thought it was a pretty awkward way of going about things.

But...if it worked, it's probably better than nothing!

The problem was it was barely usable.

That sounds about right. Might be time to initiate the unbundling with AT&T for this service. When it finally gets up and running....

Dish MYDVR may never happen. It looks like their putting their eggs into other areas like 1080p movies on demand---recivers with slingbox etc.

I can see it all working together. Use MyDVR for remote control. Sling for remote viewing. and VOD is just another method of recording.

I don't see anything being mutually exclusive here.

I just contacted them to unbundle last week. Especially since I was able to switch to TWC Roadrunner for internet. They finally came up with a pack this didn't charge an arm and a leg without basic cable. (Heck, my TWC installer was an ex-Dish installer). I was also tired of Dish customer only capabilities, especially with online scheduling coming.

Unfortunalty I currently sub to Cinemax. I guess once I sign up, I still can't switch to penny Cinemax?

The problem was it was barely usable.

They should have been ashamed to even let anyone outside of E* see the version they put out for testing.

Where do you see this? All I see is Network Setup and Cancel.

on my 722 - main menu, system setup, installation, broadband setup, then web activation... maybe you don't have L6.14 yet...
