I've received this error message twice in the last
few weeks for the first time in over three years of
being a Dish subscriber. While watching a show, the
teal/white error popup will suddenly appear stating
"Your smart card is unauthorized...."

It then flips back to the video info banner, then it pops
up again, then goes to the info banner, pops up again, etc,
about 5-6 times within about 1 minute without displaying
any picture at all. Then the video comes back on and
everything seems fine again. This happens without any user
intervention at all.

I DID update my smart card that Dish sent out a few months
ago, and my account is paid up to date and in perfect standing.
Any similar experiences? Any known solutions?
Thanks in advance!

I occasionally see that on my 6000. It started after doing the smart card exchange. I actually saw it once on my 811 which of course has no smart card that can be accessed. :)

More hiccups.

My 921 did that a few weeks ago. I pulled out the card and had to reseat it.

Might just be crud. Might be any one of a number of things though. Failing 6000, power surges or power drops. If it does it again, you may want to call Dish and see if they will replace it.

Mine started doing that permanently about a week after I switched to their new smart card. I had to get a new smart card shipped to me.

another DP44 ?
