I'm from colombia and here there is a company called sky (i think it joined to directv and now they both are the same)...
When you pay for the service they give you the dish (Its called that way, isn it? I mean the antenna the company gives you) and some kind of decoder, i really dont know the brand or anything.

When you dont want that service no more, you call the company and they take the decoder but they leave the dish.

So here is the question:
What can i do with that antenna?

Sorry if it was asked before but im newbie here and i didnt find anything

What size dish is it, and what type of LNBF (the thing on the end of the arm)?

I'm not sure cause the dish isnt here right now
I just googled for it and i found something...

1.2 antenna, 31.5inches maybe, satellite PAS 6B, the lnb is type c i think

I dont know if that helps you...

El plato es 1.2 metros? Eso es como 47 pulgadas.

The dish is 1.2m? That's about 47 inches.

(1M=39.36 in.)

The rest is greek to me. Others will help with this. Looks like a decent candidate for true FTA reception at first blush.

See ya
Tony

A 1.2 meter dish in the States would be very useful for FTA.

From Colombia, though, I'm not sure. It would depend on the satellite you're trying to hit and the beam footprints.
