I'm curious about different transponder strength in my area of the country.

I have a Dish 500 on 110 and 119 and another Dish 500 with an "I" adapter on 61.5. I also have a VIP211K, I'm 70 miles west of Washington DC, blue skys, but windy.

Sat TP SS
110 14 64
110 19 59
110 21 70
119 14 46
119 19 68
119 21 69
61.5 19 46
61.5 21 67
61.5 29 73

Granted, this is just a snapshot in time and not very scientific, but does Dish publish what the values should be by location? And since I have nothing really to compare these numbers to - - - are these good numbers for the Washington DC area?

Well, that is great data. Based on this information my 61.5 Dish 500 is doing great and my Dish 500 on 110 and 119 needs some tweaking as all my numbers for those TP's were lower than the excel.

Exactly what I was looking for - - - thx

The OP has the Welcome Pack so a mixed arc would be fine

110/119 for channels
61.5 for his HD locals and the couple PI channels

When you do a self install and no contract as the OP did I dont think we qualify for dish upgrades ;)

I tweaked the 110 -119 Dish today and now compared to the DMA Average tab, I'm a few points above the average for the 4 TP's listed.

I think this is a great tool to make sure you are close to what you should be getting. Now I just need to leave well enough alone. :up

you're a FTA'er....that usually doesnt happen ;)

Well I already want a better receiver - - - I got so used to the Dish pal DVR having two tuners - - - I'm not used to the VIP211K having one satellite tuner. Maybe when the Hopper comes out I can find a deal on a 722K which would allow me to remove two receivers from the cabinet (VIP211K and the pal DVR) and replace it with the 722K.

Must wait, must wait, must wait - - - but I'm not very patient!

nba and nhl hd not in multisport??
