DISH Retailer Chat Recap - 8/22/2013

Hey guys been awhile since I did one of these.

Its a DISH Retailer chat where we recap the Retailer chat letting you know about things from the chat which may be of interest to you the consumer.

As I have been hinting (based on a gut feeling) DISH and ESPN are close to an agreement, this seems to be indicated on this chat, as they were talking about how good the coverage is of the NFL on ESPN, and plus they are going to be offering the ESPN Gameplan package for College Football.

They then go one to talk about the Pac 12 Network and are the only satellite provider to offer it.

Looks like the new customer promotions will continue on through January.

I will post more if there is anything else I think is interesting for you the consumers.

Talking about the changes to the BlockBuster @HOME letting retailers know they will no longer be shipping movies and game to customers. The rest of the Blockbuster @HOME package will remain the same.

They need to wrap the Blockbuster in to the AEP and still offer it ala cart as well. THat way you get something of real value with the AEP and you can still watch it ala cart if you want to pair it with a lesser programming pack to save money. Then America's everything pack will be really everything movie wise.

They just showed a cool Hopper Demo commercial and saw the SatelliteGuys logo twice in the commercial. Very cool!

They seem to have a way for customer's with good credit but no credit card to sign up for DHA24 now.

Yup they have to pay $90 up front and they get a $3 a month credit.

The iPad promotion is continuing no changes are being made.

I like how they are better on being able to use another's credit card to sign up. The person with the credit card would be liable for that account though.

Its like co signing for a car loan for someone.

Even cooler is seeing the SatelliteGuys logo on the DISH website... I think this is the first time I have seen it on the DISH website.

Who DBS? They are not satellite anymore... now they are something like the Digital Bitch Stream or something like that.

I am waiting for their 4th look at the HR 44 power adapter since the other 3 times were so informational.
