Dish remote control conversion

I have an old 8.0 UHF Pro remote control from a 811 receiver that I would like to program as a backup to run my VIP211 (that uses the 5.3IR remote).

I know the 811 used UHF and the VIP uses IR but the UHF pro remote does have IR capability, can be programed for other IR system components, and looks identical to the 5.3 IR remote.

Is there any way to program the remote for the 211 either as the primary SAT box or as an auxiliary component.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

No can't be done with the 8.0 remote, its only mode of operation is UHF Pro.
