Having cleaned up three dishes so far, all three have needed repainting on at least the mount parts. The rings have been bad, particularly around the welds which are hard to get at with my wire brush. It looks like the paint does not stick too well to the welds, starts to flake there, and water penetrates under the paint and starts working back into the non-welded areas.
Any hints on how to get paint to stick to welds a bit better? Otherwise I can see I shall have to take them apart for repainting every 5 years or so....
