I have looked everywhere to try and figure out this problem but I have found nothing that has helped. I hoping this forum could help provide the best solution. I have a Dish VIP 622DVR receiver that is located in a media closet with a laptop (wireless internet connection), DVD, receiver, etc... There is no hard internet connection in the closet and I only use a cell phone; however I have a wireless router in another room of the house. I want to hook up my Dish receiver to a broadband connection but don't want to run a wire, get a landline, or buy a Homeplug. The laptop is my old Sony Vaio that runs on XP. I found that there is a way to share an internet connection...i.e. connect an Ethernet cord from my computer directly into the Dish receiver and share the wireless connection. I configured my computer to allow for this connection; however my receiver is still unable to connect. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions??? Thank you.
