Dish receiver 311k (322 basically) frequency?

I've searched high and low but can't manage to find the frequency this receiver uses on the RG-6 cable. I need to know what GHz I need to use on this replacement receiver. 1GHZ? 2GHz? 3GHz? Is there a list somewhere to refer to? I can't even so much as find specs (detailed) on the 311k or the 322 for that matter... & a 311k manual?
P.S. Also, how do I find out *all* of the channel/transponders I have? All sites I've searched so far don't list the local channel packages (OTA programming) and for some reason quite a few others...
Reason I ask is I think I possibly have 3 problems. 1. Dish needs peaked. 2. Possibly wrong fittings (barrel couplers are 990MHz I believe) 3. Possibly bad cable- looong story... :)

depends on what you are using for a LNB type but 2200Mhz cable will work fine. You can go up to 3GHZ but honestly at our lake house there is a DishProPlus LNB and we take a 322 there (so we can watch 2 shows on 2 different TV's) and the cabling is regular RG6 that was put in back in 01 and it works fine

Go to the list on this site for channels and transponders.
 
DishPro/DishProPlus LNBFs output odd transponders at 950-1250 and even transponders at 1450-2150, so I would make sure any barrel connectors will pass at least 2150.

By the way, thought I'd pass along my thoughts as to what I was thinking of...
I was trying to find out channel/transponders list so I could narrow down the transponders we use and discard the numbers of the ones we don't- then focus on those transponders only when trying to tweak the dish aim again. Is that a good plan or just focus on transponders 11 on both sats (of which so far I don't see any channels listed on that we even watch on T11 on sat 119 I think it was-don't have the list in front of me)?

The way I do it, go to mydish.com and click on upgrades. You can then select locals and type in your zip. That will tell you your DMA. Once you have your DMA come back here and click the list. There should be an option for locals, and select you city and state. Will give you everything you need to know.

Where are you seeing the option to choose "locals" or to type in your zip? I don't see that... I only see packages and such to choose from?
 
The first one is to discover your DMA. Louisville sound about right? The second link is for the list for Louisville.
 
The 322/311K is a DishPro receiver, only the 4 digit models were legacy models, they used 13v/18v switching at 950Mhz-1450Mhz to downconvert the signal.
So I have a DishPro receiver? So do I refer to our system as a DishPro system or does that not necessarily apply since our dish doesn't say DishPro?
And the 950-1450MHz is signal from the satellites that is converted to a lower frequency to be transmitted on the cable or is that the actual frequency transmitted on the cable into the house? I've been trying to research some on the subject and from what I'd read my thought was the LNB lowered the transmitted frequency so it could be transmitted (successfully) on lower frequency cable or something?
Sorry for all the questions guys; still a newbie and trying to figure out what I have and what I need to improve the signal. Signal is crappy on most transponders still yet (50-60 with a few at around 70). That's why I was thinking of focusing on just the transponders (channels) we watch.
On a related note, is there some way to find out what my signal quality *should* be in my area?

To recap:
Our complete system details:
-311k (basically a 322 from what I've read?)
-Dish 500 dish (doesn't say DishPro on it- just says Dish I'm thinking; it's dark outside now so can't look) :) with a dual LNB (one oval? eye w/ two cables going in for 2 receivers)
-3GHz cable at the moment bought from a local satellite dealer (but has *multiple* waterproof underground RG-6 splice kits in it under ground w/ 950MHz? barrell couplers) and a barrell coupler (950MHz?) at the dish with weatherproof plugs and boots covering them (I disconnect there to align the dish with)
-Live at 47167 and use satellites 119 and 110 (have America's Top 120+ with local package)
 
The signal from the satellite comes down at 12.2-12.7Ghz, the LNBF then downconverts that high frequency to a lower frequency (950-1450 and 1650-2150) to travel over RG6 coxial cable. Don't worry about DishPro and all of that, your receiver will only work with a DP LNBF, and if it's working, that is what you have, in fact I would say legacy LNBFs are rather hard to find. All of the frequency you need to worry about are those lower ones specified. I think you are waaay overthinking things.

None of my business, but why are you sticking with the 311K? You can upgrade to at least a 211 for free, or very cheap if you want to get it on your own.

I wouldn't use "multiple" splices even with 3ghz barrel connectors, especially if you are burying it or it is going to be in the weather. Those splices will attenuate the signal.

To emphasize, the dish is a reflector. Legacy, DishPro, Dish2020, doesn't matter. The LNB and receiver are all that matters.

The dish itself just determines which, and how many, satellites you can receive.

When did that happen? :confused: I thought all Dish Pro receivers (3 digit model number and later) could still switch legacy equipment.

You are right, I should have looked it up. Thanks for the correction. I was getting that from the Hopper, that only works with DP equipment.
