DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

I could easily see the negotiations continuing for the rest of the year. Given the number of channels and I am sure Dish is working the options on each channel (Dish on Demand/digital rights, HD, SD, volume discounts, package tiers, etc) to death. There is a lot to be negotiated.

3 weeks and no end in sight....... you maybe right aout this taking a year to resolve..... lets hope not.

Another week of college football and still no ESPNU in HD from Dish. Getting it from Direct is irrelevant and no real official word as of today is just lame.

Wow, the thread had gone so far off the rails, I think it is on a boat now.

...RMS TITANIC...

I think Dish sometimes feel more like the Titanic but at least this side of the forum is always more interesting than the other side :).
I was referring to the thread as being the Titanic, not Dish. Half of the "other" side hang out over here because...more drama, and WAY cooler people!!! :D

At this point I would have rather ESPN gone dark on Dish ... at least that way the outcry would have caused a quick resolution. Better than weeks / months of the same old same old ...

I find it hard to accept that the status quo is not preferable to the channels being yanked for some of the subscribers.

We all get that you want ESPNU in HD or else you will continue to threaten to leave Dish but actually never leave...

I also can't believe those that are crying over their 5 year not having Disney in HD is a real issue. I call BS on anyone claiming their kid knows or cares if it is SD.

LOL at ESPNU. Cincinnati vs UConn. I won't be watching. Not because it's not HD. It's because I rarely watch that channel because the games aren't very good. Whether that channel is in HD is irrelevant to me.

And as many if not most of us maintain it's really a non issue. Should it be in HD, yes just as really today most any channel should be. Would DISH lose enough customers to even be noticed if it isn't, no. It don't think it's even a heated discussion for DISH and Disney, I think channels being in HD will happen when the agreement is reached.

problems with DVD and DVR since hooking up new TV

Is this the same ehd ???
