DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

For the record, market cap for Disney as of today's close is $118.53 Billion.

Now back to our reguarly scheduled "when will this be finalized and why do my logos keep disappearing?" discussion.

That sounds more tangible.

The conference contract for the football conferences together adds up to about a billion/year. I wouldn't call that a drop.

People that aren't into college sports don't really get it. By "get it" I mean the billions of dollars. The NCAA tournament for basketball is huge. So will the college football playoff. That's big time money and not a drop.

Yes, today I can report that I have NO logos for DISNEY, ABC family or Espn channels.

Dr oz and oprah talk, thread has been all over. I know it has to run its negotiating course but wish we had a new bit on talks, though I know channels are still up so talks are continuing

Here's something else that might have an impact on a 'deal'.

ABC-Owned TV Stations May Be Put Up for Sale

http://www.tvweek.com/blogs/tvbizwire/2013/10/abc-owned-tv-stations-may-be-p.php
Here's what I found interesting from that article...
Broadcast rival CBS and its stations recently won retrans rates from Time Warner Cable that approach $2 per subscriber a month,
If the cost has been posted before, I apologize. I support retrans, but I think that cost is too high.

I heard on the Tim Brando radio show several weeks ago, that CBS came out smelling like a rose.I thought now how would they have a clue, but they must have known something.

It's been posted before and I've mentioned it a few times, but it seems to get ignored. Cost of locals alone will be doubling or tripling, if that cost is matched across the board.

At $2 each the cost of the Big 4 and PBS goes to $10 a month and then add in the cost of the CW and other minor locals.

Locals should be broken out into standalone packages, so those with antenna's can forgo that cost if they want.

I like the bolded idea, PROVIDED those with antennas can still utilize the guide data (or at least PSIP).

Where did you find PBS going to $10?

problems with DVD and DVR since hooking up new TV
