Dish Now Installation problem

I did a self-install of my DishNow prepaid system and I'm receiving signals from both satellites 119 and 110. The signal "locks" with strengths between 120 and 125 on sat. 119 and 100 to 105 on sat. 110, but that's as far as I can get. I can't get the following screen to come up to start my initial software download. I'm using a Dish 500, DP Twin LNBF, no switch, the receiver is directly connected to the LNBF, and a DP301 receiver with a yellow smart card.

I'm unable to activate my receiver without downloading the initial software, and I can't figure out what's keeping it from automatically downloading after the signal is locked in. My 'check switch' results are:

Dish Input12Satellite119110TransponderAllAllDeviceTwinTwin
Satellite reception verified.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Since you have a prepaid system, it's very likely your 301 is a remanufactured receiver. The software is already installed. Once you activate the box, it will probably prompt you to download the latest software version.

shandimi,

I think this message is fairly normal. Select Yes and you should be ready for the next step, which I want to say is a software update if needed, then activation.

This message is a "Last Chance" warning before downloading software, wanting the operator to verify the dish is aimed properly. I don't do installs but would imagine that if the dish aim is marginal or worse and the receiver loses signal during the download, the receiver could possibly get stuck between software loads and become unusable.

Been a while since I had to do this on a 301/311 but in the setup menu look for the factory defaults screen. Reset the unit to the factory defaults. Then do a check switch. Go back to the signal screen and allow the unit to lock on 119. Select done and it should bring up the screen you are looking for. Then it will download.
