Does anyone have credible information why Dish will not allow more than one receiver upgrade per year. I purchased a HD Plasma last February and an additional HD plasma this month. I was told by people at Dish that I could not upgrade to a HD receiver (VIP 222) until after February. I was willing to pay whatever charges that were incurrred, but to no avail. This is puzzling to me, considering the influx of HD channels by both Direct TV and Dish in recent months. Just curious. Thanks.

You can purchase the additional HD receiver if you want, check at DishStore for pricing.

I think Dish only allow one upgrade per calender year as a way to have enough units per account as opposed to enough units per tv used. In their way of thinking, an HD receiver would be availabe to six accounts as to one person having six HD receivers. Plus, there are not a lot of households who actually have more than one HD tv.
