Is there a support group for those who have moved from DirecTV to Dish? I ask because I swear this move is the source of my recent episode of alcoholism.

I moved and since I have discovered superior HD package, with an inferior HD-DVR to the HR10-250 I just sold.

I have also found the base packages do not include our local RSN, nor the national VS. network. As a NHLCI subscriber, I expect ALL hockey games. There is little to no HD hockey, no football, no NFL Sunday Ticket.

There are also fees for everything , even sh*t I 've never heard of like HD Enabling fees, no online account access, 10-25 minutes between program changes by an agent, and most of them do not speak English.

I am going to need some help of the next 17 months, so if there is not a support group, please let me know and I'll start one. IPTV will not be enough to console me.

HELP!

Why would you move from DirecTV to Dish without researching?

Sounds a bit silly to me.

no online account access? You can pay online from channel 100 or pay from disknetwork.com (Online)!
Oh sure, they give you a million ways to pay. What if I want to upgrade/downgrade my package?!?! nope, I just tried. Also it take like 2 minutes (lliterally) to login to the site!?!

True, you should have researched. Some of your complaints are personal preferences.... we all have them. Some of your complaints are things that you should have found out/known before you switched. Anyone could have told you there was no NFL Sunday ticket. There is football. Apparently just not the football you want. I'm sure all the fees were also explained to you when you signed up. They are explained to me every time I change something.

As far as online account access... there is. dishnetwork.com
Follow the directions and you have online account access. You can pay your bill, see your bill, see what else is available etc etc etc

I did, but I only looked at HD, I thought things like RSN's and VS. were in in the base package because they are for D*, Cable and almost all others I have heard about, most though here.

I did know there was no ticket ... what I didn;t know is I needed the GoldHD package in addition to NHL CI to watch all the hockey games.

didn't do your research, huh?

you will get all of the hockey games outside your local market. Your local team cannot be shown to you on NHL CI. You have to watch it on your local RSN or local affiliate. Right now the Wild are playing the Flames yet I cannot see it. In Mpls its on a Mpls local channel that I do not get. I am blacked out on NHL CI because I live in MN.

no NFL Sunday Ticket.
again, didnt do any research, huh? DirecTV has the US EXCLUSIVE on it. That means nobody else, not cable, not Dish can offer it in the US.

There are also fees for everything , even sh*t I 've never heard of like HD Enabling fees, no online account access, 10-25 minutes between program changes by an agent, and most of them do not speak English.
a. cut out the language
b. I haven't had any issue with changing program with an rep.
c. no online access? Huh? No you cannot downgrade on line but you can upgrade online
d. HD enabling fee is if you have a HD box (622, 211) and no HD package

As noted a couple times, should have done your research first.

Listen here jack, this is a SUPPORT thread. KEEP IT ON TOPIC or don't post!

Let me clarify folks, this is the Dish Network support thread where we discuss how inferior they are compared to other services. Or extend "poor babies" to the posters.

NOT

Where we cite how great they are and how dumb I am for moving.

my post IS on topic. I don't know where my post isn't. I was repsonded to your issues with Dish with the answers you obviously didn't want to hear.

And I'll post where its needed :)

Lots of us have DIsh and haven't had an issue with them. Sorry that you might, but you should have done your homework first :)

Folks, don't take him too seriously. Read his other posts in other threads. He's just here to slam Dish and bring the pit to everyone. Note how he keeps insisting that there needs to be a "support" group, ie, Dish is "that bad." He wants to "discuss how inferior they are compared to other services." He's just trying to bash Dish while pretending otherwise.

There's a word for what he's doing.

Is this how you got 22K posts?

Look man, I respect your POV, but the bottom line is my research is not what is failing here. Take a look at DirecTV, Comcast and other US providers ... they all offer these as basics.

The 622 is a good DVR, but as with any DVR (other then TiVo) there are shortcomings. It is plain lame and if I wanted to talk with a Filipino I would have stayed in the US Navy!!!

what, telling the truth and not going on this little "I hate DIsh" rampage? You have 30 days to back out when you signed up ya know :)

they offer HD in the basic? nope
Comcast is in my area (bought out Time Warner). Guess what they did? Pulled Vs from the expanded basic and put it in a digital sports pack. And they just pulled ESPN Classic from expanded to digital yesterday. Throw in the fact they are expensive (just jacked rates up $5) and I'll stick with satellite :)
