In a broad signal it intends to purchase the rights to Comcast's new regional sports programming, Dish Network carried Tuesday night's Kings-Mavericks game on channel 447.
Dish spokesman Steve Caulk said the last-minute decision was part of the negotiations between the Denver-based satellite carrier and Comcast. The move appeared designed to reassure anxious Dish subscribers the company will buy the Comcast programming, which includes 52 regular-season Kings games.
If no deal is completed today, however, Caulk said he was unsure if his network would carry tonight's Kings game at San Antonio.
If the two companies do reach an agreement, that would leave DirecTV and Charter Communications as the largest carriers in Kings territory that have not signed on to carry the new Comcast SportsNet West.
