DAMAGE CLAIMS.
Also I did not volunteer for entertainment aux training.
Doesn't pay to do.

Sent from my fingers.

I read the horror stories of how the techs get dinged because, for example, a customer calls in 2 days after install for something the user/customer did and the tech is blamed... :( It will only get worse with more than just TVs and sat receivers thrown in the mix now.

Customer can't get their iPad to connect to wireless network a tech set up, calls Dish to complain, it's the tech's fault ! He/she touched it...

Customer cranks up their surround-sound system to "test 'er out!" and blows a speaker or two. Complain to Dish, gotta be the tech's fault ! He/she touched it...

I don't let Dish do any of my installs now, so why would I even consider allowing them to hand an expensive TV on the wall?

Sorry, I will PASS!

Same with the Joey / Hopper, when it becomes available. I will purchase equipment through Claude and self-install before I will allow them into my house. I live in Chicago and don't trust contractors, let alone installers. Besides, I am capable of doing this myself, so I will.

this is kinda old news, Dish has been planning this for a few months. I think that it has the potential for a lot of damage claims. In conjunction to this the limitations to what the "installer" will do should be read. they are using covers for the wire. very limited wall fishes if any, and no electrical work. Basicaly it is an expanded install. and yes the "installer" will take total responsibility for everything.

"Ancillary Services" is the term flying around. And no one really knows what to make of it yet; techs or otherwise. I'm waiting to see what happens after the first Superbowl...
