Hi, this is my first time posting so if this has been answered elsewhere I apologize. I signed a two-year contract with Dish Network about 6 months ago when I got my 622. Since then my apartment complex has decided that where my dish is located is un-sightly and the only place they are letting me move it to will not receive a signal. Does anyone know if this will allow me to break my Dish contract assuming I get a signed letter from my apartment complex? Thanks in advance.

CSR roulette may work with a Dish mover but I was told from a CSR about a year and a half ago that Movers are for locations that are not at the same residence. If you were installed by a retailer or sub then call them to come out, chances are they may come out at no charge depending on their contractual terms. Seems like roulette altogether, don't it?
Good news.... (here it comes)... is that if you do have no los then you should be free to go no matter what csr you talk to.
Note: the appartment complex cannot make you move your dish if they allowed you to put it up in the first place and is installed in your apartment area. You should check into this first. Also, if the system was installed Dish will not let you out of your contract without you paying the cancellation fee.
True about the first part but again it will be CSR roulette. Get to the right person and anything is possible... well almost.
Another note, the contract says that you have to have a note by the landlord or apt manager to have the dish installed. If you do not have this and allowed the install or you forged a note then trouble and charges may be coming your way. If the last part is true then I would suck it up and go for the cancellation fee.

Oh, I see where what I said might have been confusing. I wasn't suggesting that the OP do a DishMover, I was simply pointing out that there are times where Dish will waive the cancellation fee. I was using a DishMover NLOS as an example.
I'm just curious, is your dish installed in an exclusive use area, or did they let you put it in a public area, and change their mind later? Did you get the original permission in writing from the landlord/management? There may be options that don't include you even having to bring dish into this.
Ask if the management will allow an MDU install. Much cleaner visually than the "dish farm" look.
Hey Everyone, thanks for all the quick and informative replies. The situation is that the dish was already installed by a previous occupant and when I did dish mover when I moved they just used the pre-existing dish. It is in a common area on the ground near air conditioning uints. I have nothing in writing but the apartment management agreed that since it was already there then I could go ahead and use it. Since then they've went under new management who have decided they want visible dishes moved behind the apartments. This works fine for apartments who's back yard have LOS, but mine does not. I ge the feeling new management really has not thought this through considering the majority of the buildings face south so putting them in the back yard, where the only LOS would be north, does not work. I have been really happy with dish and hope it works out, but it looks like its going to be tricky.
